Blood Domination Blood Destiny Book 4 eBook Connie Suttle
The plot is interesting but becomes fragmented at times. There is are too many sub plots going on making the main story line hard to follow. The main character and others behave inconsistent. That makes the sub plots more confusing. FYI to those who are new to this series; the books need to be read in order. Otherwise things don't make sense and seem incomplete. I have only read this series by this author. I am reluctant to read her other series. That is because she ends this series books with a lead into the next book. I prefer the story to end and wonder about a next book in a series. I don't like being left with what is essentially an incomplete book. I always feel cheated no matter how good the book is.

Blood Domination Blood Destiny Book 4 eBook Connie Suttle Reviews
This is the fifth book in the Blood Destiny series. It does not stand alone. Each book is a continuation.
Out of the five books this is my favorite in the series so far. Lissa travels off world and some interesting new species are introduced, as well as a new look on how vampire culture has developed on a different world. Lissa continues her emotional struggles with the men in her life who wish to protect her, control her, as well as use her talents. I don't find this a weakness in her character so much as a appropriate dichotomy. She has very strong powers, but she is young in the vampire world. The vampires are not used to dealing with women, especially Queen vampires, and always have their own agenda to accomplish (as do the werewolves, the human government, etc). I find the story line still compelling and the characters developing true to form... a 2,000 year old vampire isn't going to do a complete personality make-over after spending a year or two in someone's company... it would be ridiculous for all the vampires to simply become modern men who suddenly understand how to deal with Lissa...
This is a mess. There was a perfectly good vampire series in the making, and Suttle has turned it into the most ineptly plotted SF/fantasy/parallel dimensions potboiler imaginable. The plot turns are like stuff coming out of Mary Poppins satchel—instant inventions plunked down with neither preparation nor follow-up, whole races of beings, gods, demons, powers, worlds, rules and laws, conjured out of nothing. Every few pages she annoyingly cuts back and forth between stories for no good reason than to break up what would be otherwise too tedious, I guess. The first 3 books were entertaining enough, but this is where I get off.
I didn't like all the secret service stuff in Blood Sense(#3),but was so happy with the switch up in Blood Domination. We get a whole different world!I liked where this book went in that it took us to a completely different setting and we get to meet different types of mythical beings. It just felt like a breath of new air in the series. We get to see more of Griffin, and meet new characters like Pheligar, Dragon, Karzac,Gabron and Kifirin ....I wish Lissa would just stay in this setting surrounded by all these cool characters who let her do what she wants. I felt she was free in this book without the vampire council breathing down her neck.
I don't like Gavin all that much so I'm glad he wasn't with her a lot. Like I mentioned before the new characters actually felt like normal people (despite not being normal at all) instead of the stuffy overbearing vampires (I love Merill and Charles though...)from the previous books. Lissa has a show-down of sorts with the council and I'm glad she is growing a bit as a character. Although I wish she'd stop revealing her talents so quickly to people she just meets, and for once can she just stay mad at Gavin? I'm not sure what to think of all her suitors....except I can kind of understand the situation, she's rare and awesome, but I hope she sticks with one guy. I mean she can shop around,I just hope she doesn't keep them all at the same time...and please dump Gavin, please. I hope we see more of Dragon and Karzac though. This is an awesome book and the storyline is really interesting...and Kifirin is neat. I hope that Lissa never stops showing her emotion as well. I like how she sings... Can't wait to start the next book! Thank You Connie Suttle for this awesome series and making me get so involved in the story.
I bought the first book in the series after seeing all the rave reviews that followed and found myself reading all night and buying the next one on my kindle as soon as I finished - I think I read all 4 books in 4 days! And boy, I wasn't disappointed! I love this series - it moved away from the typical vampire/heroine type novel and just kept on moving.... to wonderful new worlds that are described and accepted just as naturally as our world is!
I initially found myself annoyed at Lissa for not standing up for herself, for just accepting her lot in life as if there was nothing left for her to fight for. It was only in the 3rd novel that I realised that Ms Suttle was slowly building many background stories that, even in the 4th book, are still coming together. And Lissa - well, she came through in the end and I was cheering her as she told the Vampire Council where to stick their views and laws.
The 4th book has veered so far off course from the first book, if Ms Suttle hadn't dropped little tidbits throughout you would probably think you were reading a different series. But it flowed so well, I just accepted it and enjoyed the story for what it is - a story! Full of imagination, hero's, bad guys, myths and legends.. the list is endless. And Lissa, well, she's had a hard life and it looked life her vampire life would be just as bad... but her sacrifices will pay off in the end, making her the true heroine we all want to see.
I can't wait for the next book to come out! Well Done Connie Suttle!
