Out of all of Marcel Pagnol's works, Le Chateau de ma Mere is my favorite. Pagnol's love for Provence is captivating. The novel is beautifully descriptive and takes you right into the heart of Provence; you can hear the cicadas singing in the background. Le Chateau is a touching portrayal of childhood, capturing both joy and sorrow.
I just got the product and the book is great for those in advance french. Compared to other french readings such as Asterix it is pretty advanced.
Ce livre n'est absolument pas neuf.

Awesome book! If you speak french or in the process of learning french its a great book to read. He paints a very good picture of the country side back in the late 19th century. Also if u liked this on don't forget to get La Gloire de mon Pere which is just as good as this one. Enjoy!
